Located in the Tanglewood Mall; the museum offers a look into national emergency services performed by medical technicians and paramedics. Dedicated to Julian Stanley Wise, founder of the 1928 Roanoke Life Saving and First Aid Crew, the museum presents interactive exhibits that include the original 'jaws of life,' a 911 display where visitors can partake and listen to simulated calls and videotapes of actual rescues. The National Emergency Medical Services Memorial is dedicated to those rescuers who died in the line of duty. Open Tuesday-Saturday noon-9pm, Sunday 1-6pm; closed major holidays.
