Established in 1878, Champlain College is a private institution located in Burlington, Chittenden County. The total enrollment is approximately 1,568 full-time students. The student to faculty ratio is 14 to 1. The geographically diverse student body is 49 percent male and 51 percent female. Twenty-four undergraduate programs lead to associate and bachelor degrees. The college also offers a Master of Science degree in Managing Innovation and Information Technology.

Champlain students live in restored Victorian-era mansions with fireplaces, period woodwork and charming bay windows. The largest dorm houses around 50 students and the smallest houses just 10.

Campus activities include, but are not limited to, sports and fitness; theatre, music and art; and community service.

Examples of facilities are the 60,000-book library, Hauke Family Campus Center, Allied Health and Science Center, and the Statler HotelRestaurant/Travel & Tourism teaching lab.
