Shelburne Vermont 05402
Shelburne Farms was created in 1886 as a model agricultural estate by William Seward and Lila Vanderbilt Webb. Today it is a nonprofit environmental education center and national historic site on the shores of Lake Champlain.
Schoolchildren, educators and families come here to learn, while casual visitors can enjoy the walking trails, childrens farmyard, inn, restaurant, property tours and special events. Demonstrations on cheese- and furniture-making are on the premises. The Children's Farmyard includes a hayride, cows, chickens and goats.
