Search Bainbridge Island Washington

Named for Captain William Bainbridge, an American naval hero in the War of 1812, Bainbridge Island traces its beginnings to the late 19th century, when it was a shipbuilding center for tall-masted schooners. Eagle Harbor still hums with the activities of the Washington State Ferries maintainence yard; daily ferries connect the community to nearby Seattle.

The entire island is popular with bicyclists, despite its hilly terrain. Bainbridge Island is part of the Bremerton, WA metro area.

Enjoy this small town that offers big things - acres of parks, a variety of trailheads, fascinating historical sites and dozens of attractions and annual events.

Today, nearly 22,000 people call these 48 square miles home. The island's friendly people, exquisite beauty and proximity to Seattle and the Kitsap Peninsula continue to draw new residents and curious visitors.
