First Presbyterian Church

For 125 years, the First Presbyterian Church has ministered to members and friends in Port Townsend and its surrounding communities. The original church was built here in 1873, but was replaced in 1889 by a larger building.

The church is complete with a unique Victorian sanctuary and one of the oldest pipe organs on the West Coast.

The church is still in use today providing worship services, bible studies, vacation bible schools, and more.

The annual festival began in 1976 with a gift of 1,000 cherry trees to the city of Seattle from the Japanese government to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial.
