The most important highway in Washington is Interstate 5, connecting the three major cities of Seattle, Portland and Vancouver BC. It passes through or close by all the other major cities of Western Washington, Vancouver, Olympia, Tacoma, Everett, and Bellingham. Highway 101 branches from it at Olympia and Interstate 90 heads east from it at Seattle.
