The northernmost major peak in the Washington's Cascade Mountains, rising 10,778 feet to the east of Bellingham. The mountain is the centerpiece of the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, and is well known for its beauty and spectacular hiking, as well as for its winter recreational opportunities.

Lodging is available on Highway 542 at Glacier, just inside the National Recreation Area boundary.
