Alkali Creek in northern Wyoming's Bighorn Basin offers excellent wildlife and recreational opportunities. High desert pastel colored plains decline sharply into narrow, deep cottonwood canyons encompassed by hoodoo sandstone pinnacles. Alkali Creek lies below the Big Horn Mountains and contains many unmapped and uncharted archeological sites. During the winter, the area provides a haven for elk migrating from the mountains.
Alkali Creek is located within the Bighorn National Forest. Nearby towns include Lovell, Shell, and Greybull. For more information contact the Lovell Chamber of Commerce.
