Glenrock is located in Converse County 25 miles east of Casper between Evansville and Douglas along Highway 95 on the banks of the North Platte River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 2,357, an increase of 204 since 1990.
A stagecoach and Pony Express stop, Glenrock was established as Deer Creek Station in 1857.
Home of the Glenrock Paleontological Museum. The museum's focus is on prehistoric life, including dinosaurs, ancient sea animals, Oligocene mammals and modern animals. The museum contains original descriptions and scientific papers about many prehistoric animals (approximately 500 papers and books).
