Renowned for its terrific fishing opportunities, Lake DeSmet is a great place for boaters, skiers and swimmers as well. There are many facilities at the lake including ramps, docks, campgrounds and picnic shelters.

Located in Johnson County, Lake DeSmet is surrounded by some very interesting sites. Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site is a former fort that is a site worth visiting. Lake DeSmet is also at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains.
