The Riverton is a local history museum that tells the story of the 20th-century homesteaders who brought Riverton to life in 1906 and helped it grow to its present status as the largest commercial center in west-central Wyoming. The museum displays artifacts that illustrate life at a time when the Old West was fading, but when many still believed that the pioneer spirit could lead to a bright future. The museum is housed in one of Riverton's earliest brick buildings; the home of the Riverton Methodist Church from 1916 to 1960.
