Trapper Canyon

Trapper Canyon, located in northern Wyoming's Bighorn Basin, contains a clear stream and stunning limestone cliffs that stand 1200 feet majestically over it. The canyon includes many secluded game trails, perfect for geologic and ecogeologic study. The area has been proposed for National Natural Landmark. The canyon contains the entrance to Great Expectations Cave, the third deepest in the country.

The area supports many species of wildlife, including native cutthroat trout, elk, bald eagles, black bear and mountain lion.

Trapper Canyon is located near the town of Shell and Greybull, the Bighorn River, Shell Falls and Shell Canyon.
