Sheridan County is located in northern Wyoming bordering Montana. Story, Ranchester, Sheridan, and Dayton are just a few of the cities located in the county. The county's attractions include Fort Fetterman State Historic Site on Hwy 14, Connor Battlefield State Historic Site just west of Sheridan and south of Ranchester. In the SW portion of the county lies Bighorn National Forest, as well as the Bradford Brinton Memorial-Historic Ranch within it. The area is very mountainous, as opposed to the eastern section of the county, which is one of the few relatively flat areas of the state.
