Surrounding the town is Red Deer Valley, where dinosaurs used to roam. There are several life-size dinosaur replicas in the town. Mushroom-shaped rock pillars, called Hoodoos, which were carved by years of wind and rain, can be seen 11 miles southeast of town on Hwy 10.
