The town possesses the largest known Easter egg in the world. It is 30-feet high, decorated to reflect Ukrainian folk art and was built for the centennial of the formation of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta. Vegreville is the center of eastern Alberta's Ukrainian culture.
