Originally a fur warehouse built in the early 1800's by Russians, the building became known as the Erskine House when it was converted to a residence. It is one of only four Russian-built structures remaining in the U.S.

The museum houses many Aleut, Alutiiq, and Russian artifacts including clothing, animal pelts, photos, and more. The gift shop sells Russian samovars, Easter eggs and Native baskets.
