Eagle is located east of
Fairbanks between
Tok and the United States/Yukon Territory border along Highway 5 on the banks of the
Yukon River.
Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve is northwest of Eagle.
Eagle has been the historical home to Han Kutchin Indians, and also operated as a supply and trading center for miners.
The city was founded in 1897, and named after the nesting eagles on nearby Eagle Bluff. Eagle was the first incorporated city in the Interior.
