The Fairbanks Log Cabin Visitor Information Center has everything that tourists need to know about Interior Alaska. They offer free maps, brochures and travel tips about northern lights, almost 24-hours of daylight, hot springs, dog sledding and gold mining. They can also provide directions for Denali National Park and Preserve and Mount McKinley, two of the leading attractions in the area. Golden Heart Plaza is next to the Log Cabin Visitors Information Center. It was dedicated to celebrate Fairbanks' history and culture and includes an 18 foot bronze sculpture, "Unknown First Family" by sculptor Malcolm Alexander.
