This area of southeast Alaska is famous for its fishing. There are fishing lodges and resorts throughout the area. Good fishing spots range from the coast, to streams, lakes, bays and inlets.

Half-day and longer charters and skiff rentals are available out of Ketchikan. There are two king salmon derbies, a silver salmon derby and a halibut derby in the summer. Other fish include steelhead, Dolly Varden, cutthroat and rainbow trout.
