This road runs 368 miles from
Valdez to
Fairbanks. The first 270 miles runs from
Valdez to
Delta Junction and it continues on to
Fairbanks as part of the
Alaska Hwy. It is Alaska's first road, formerly the
Valdez to
Eagle trail.
Open all year, it is a wide, paved highway with a good road surface. The road by-passes the community of Copper Center. It is a scenic route through the Chugach Mtns and Alaska Range.
