Walrus Island Expeditions

Search Homer Alaska

Visit Alaska's Bristol Bay, home to the Walrus Islands - small, isolated islands which annually host the largest land-based walrus haulout in the Western Hemisphere. Walrus Islands State Game Sanctuary encompasses four islands and three large rocks that lie offshore in Togiak Bay.

In addition to seeing thousands of walrus, visitors can expect to view red foxes, puffins, sea lions, and even gray whales.

During the summer months, enjoy a natural history tour to the Walrus Islands and along the remote coast of the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. Day trips or extended trips are offered, and for the more adventurous traveler, a new three-week voyage is available.
