Nichols-Lawson Middle School was recognized by the State Department of Education as the newest school in the Sylacauga City School system in 2003. It follows the Alabama course of study for sixth through eighth grades and also offers a wide array of enrichment courses and activities. Physical education, art, band, music, family and consumer sciences, and industrial technology are taught along with the core subjects. Coaching for sports and games are provided. The school has a PTO and parent advisory committee. Breakfast and lunch are served.
