From the building of a railroad in the early days to celebrating its 100th birthday, Beatrice is a town of heritage, tradition, and community oriented.
The town is in Monroe County ( Gulf Coast Region), 22 miles N of Monroe along Highway 21. In the same area the Monroe County Public Lake is only 5 miles east of town. The lake provides the opportunity for anglers to catch a variety of fish.
The town had a celebration of its 100th birthday on October 27 2001.
