Rikard's Mill is nestled in the piney woods along the banks of the picturesque Flat Creek which flows through Monroe County and into the Alabama River. First built in 1845, the mill has served residents of North Monroe County ever since. Visitors to the mill can watch as corn is ground into cornmeal and grits. The museum stages many activities in the park and is dedicated to the preservation of past folk traditions, such as gristmilling, blacksmithing, cane syrup making, and more.
