George Washington Carver Museum

Search Tuskegee Alabama

This museum, located on the campus of Tuskegee University, is managed by the National Park Service and is open seven days a week. Tours of the museum are self-guided, but a National Park Service Ranger will be happy to give you a tour of "The Oaks", Dr Washington's 1899 home.

History is alive in the George Washington Carver Museum, including crop rotation theories that helped the South's economy boom, and the history of Carver himself. Tuskegee University is also the only US university to be declared a National Historic Site by Congress, and is definitely worth a visit as well.
