Talladega College is Alabama's oldest historically African American, private, four-year liberal arts college. It was founded in 1867 by freedmen William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, who were assisted by General Wager Swayne of the Freedmen's Bureau and the American Missionary Association.
Situated on 130 acres of historic and unspoiled woodlands, the campus now includes 42 buildings and athletic and intramural fields.
Although Talladega College is comfortably distanced from the fast-paced city life, it's only a few minutes from a variety of cultural, entertainment and shopping options.
The campus is 25 miles west of Anniston, 50 miles east of Birmingham and 115 miles west of Atlanta.
Located in Talladega County, TC's total enrollment is about 800 and there are 32 programs leading to bachelors degrees.
Athletic scholarships are given in basketball and other sports and student housing is available for 744.
