Lower Dauphin Street Commercial District

This is the only predominantly 19th-century commercial district in Mobile. It is characterized by a high concentration of closely spaced two- and three-story brick structures built in the Victorian, Federal, Italianate and 20th-century Revival styles. The district's eastern end features early skyscrapers and buildings of the 1920s and 30s.
