Old Cahawba Archaeological State Park

First capital of Alabama, Old Cahawba, now hosts a welcome center which features archaeological finds and photos of the homes and businesses that once occupied this antebellum river town. The ghost town offers a landscape of ruins and relics. Water still flows through old ornamental wells. Hike the clear creek nature trail. Enjoy a picnic and fishing on the river. The ghost town returns to life every 2nd Saturday in May during "Old Cahawba Festival".
