This was one of the first preservation neighborhoods in Alabama. Larger than any of
Mobiles other historic districts, Old Dauphin Way is a mix of Dauphin Street neighborhoods. On Dauphins older eastern end, garden apartments overlook Mobiles down town entertainment district. West of Broad Streetvisitors will find Greek Revivals and Victorians lining Dauphin Street. Smaller 19th-century homes occupy side streets on Dauphins flanks. Further west, a more diverse Dauphin Way extends to Midtown. Here, 19th-century homes merge with early 20th-century bungalows and cottages.
