Pioneer Museum of Alabama |
This museum is packed with more than 12,000 artifacts to show visitors how early settlers lived in Alabama. Exhibits include a beautifully re-created covered bridge, hearthside cooking samples in a log cabin, an authentic wood burning-style locomotive and Native American artifacts. Also featured is a working smoke house, an actual log crib from the 1850s and several pieces of Cival War memorabilia. A breathtaking nature trail is here for guest to enjoy and with a donation, visitors can bring ho me stone-ground corn meal from the grist mill.
