Beginning as a crossroads, or intersection, of two well-traveled roads, Rainsville is located in
De Kalb County (
North Region), ten miles W of Fort Payne along Highway 35 near I59.
The city has a wonderful friendly hometown spirit that is witnessed in its outdoor recreation and youth program. The civic center and the outdoor sports complex are excellent places for any group activity.
The city has set a standard of higher education at the Northeast Alabama State Community College where the education of students come first. Many libraries are in the area to assist the students with the classroom needs.
