Central Region), 37 miles N of
Montgomery along Highway 231 near Mitchell Lake.
The city prides itself in the rich history of the area. Informational history can be found at the Old Rock Jail Museum where there are tours and pictures that show and tell of the past in the area.
The recreation in the area includes the Talladega National Forest and Mitchell Lake. The National Forest is a great place to view the outdoors for a day with the Mitchell Lake being a wonderful place to spend a day of boating or fishing.
