Weeden House Museum

Preserves furniture and architecture of the Federal period. Birthplace of artist-poet Maria Howard Weeden, the 1819 house features hand carved mantels and a leaded-glass fanlight as well as her 19th-century watercolors. Weeden's written works are read during guided tours. Tours Tuesday-Sunday 1-4pm, March-December.

Comments: This wonderful house is a magical place to visit. My wife and I have taken several visitors there and the director gives us the tour. She is animated, recites poetry in dialect and by heart and sings as well as takes you back in time. It is the best spent money in Huntsville Alabama and is like a one woman show. She does Maria Howard Weeden Proud.
