Benton is located in Saline County (of which it is the county seat) southwest of Little Rock between Malvern and Bryant along I-30 on the banks of the North Fork of the Saline River, just east of theHot Springs National Park.

Benton is part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock, Arkansas metro area.
