Local artists have created works that are on permanent display at the Fort Smith Art Center. In addition, a variety of traveling exhibits are offered. The center is housed in a restored Victorian home built around 1870. A quarter-century older than first thought, this gracious Victorian Second Empire-style home was built about 1857 by Ethelbert Bright, and had several owners before the turn of the century. During the Civil War, soldiers were billeted here. Closed Sunday and Monday.Admission is free.
