The
Fort Smith Trolley Museum features a working, fully-restored 1926 electric streetcar that makes a regular half-mile run between the Fort Smith National Cemetery and a west-end stop at the Varsity Sports Grill or Garrison Avenue otherwise known as Main Street. The Fort Smith Railway Company began operation in 1883 with three mule-drawn rail cars, offering public transportation for the first time. As these cars progressed through the unpaved streets, the "Gee" and "Haw" from the drivers could be clearly heard.
