Rison is located in
Cleveland County between
Fordyce and
Pine Bluff off of US Hwy 79. This community is also situated just east of the Saline River.
The man for whom the City of Rison was named, William Richard Rison, was a Huntsville, Alabama banker.
An 1800s village, Pioneer Village, with a doctor's home, country mercantile, two log cabins, blacksmith shop, barn, Methodist Episcopal Church South and post office is a popular attraction for the city of Rison.
