Search Tempe Arizona

This contemporary dance company, founded in 1979, has evolved from four dancers giving free performances in the Phoenix area to a company of professional artists who have toured and performed throughout Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Mexico.

Their mission continues to be the development, promotion, and presentation of contemporary dance theatre via performances, educational residencies and classes.

Today's company consists of experienced performers, choreopgraphers, and enthusiastic educators, all under the artistic direction of Marion Kirk Jones and Lisa R. Chow. Their innovative and exciting concerts bring the openness, spontaneity and diversity of dance to the public in live performances and classroom workshops.

In September, the Desert Dance Theatre offers the Arizona Dance Festival. Dance artists perform various genre and styles. Dance artists are selected by adjudication and include and ecclectic mix of dance styles.
