This 2.5 acre park focuses on Ernest W. McFarland, a grand contributor to Arizona's historic legacy as a U.S. Senator, Arizona governor, and state supreme court justice.
On display at the park is a variety of things for which the site's historic adobe building was used, from courthouse to hospital. McFarland's personal collection of artifacts is exhibited along with an interpretive program which details his illustrious career.
The McFarland State Historic Park is open for day use only, with an on-site visitor center open 8am-5pm that is closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Christmas Day. McFarland Historical State Park is located in Florence, off U.S. Route 89 and State Route 287. Group tours are available.
Built in 1878, the courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
