Ludwig Dance Theatre, organized in 1977, moved to Tempe in 1979, is involved with the Arizona arts community. Over the past 25 years, the Company has performed in cities and towns throughout the state and also has a three-month teaching and performing residency in Portugal. It has collaborated with artists, composers, symphonies, actors, writers, costume artists, musicians, dancers of all genres and of all ages, sculptors, performance artists, and master chefs. Ludwig’s work mainly deals with the quality of life issues, which explore domestic violence, homelessness, the role of men and women in society, drug and alcohol abuse, gender preferences, ravages of war, aging, love, marriage, divorce, and Alzheimer's disease. It also reveals the sheer joy of dancing with flavors from swing, tango, waltz and country.
