The Kootenay Gallery is the only regional museum that provides standard facilities with the capacity to bring high quality exhibitions to the region from museums and galleries across Canada. It is a non-profit institution, governed by a board of directors and financially assisted by the government of BC through the BC arts council, the city of Castlegar, regional district of central Kootenay, area J, corporate sponsors, memberships and donations. The total floor space of the gallery is 361.6m2 (3,888ft2) and the ceiling height is 12'.
