Queen Margaret's School is founded in 1921 by Miss Norah Creina Denny and Miss Dorothy Rachel Geoghegan. It offers a challenging university preparatory high school education for girls in Grades 8 to 12, a Junior School for boys and girls in Grade 1to 7, an English riding program for novice, experienced and recreational riders, and a residence for girls that provides a nurturing environment for 90 Canadian and international boarding students in Grades 6 to 12. Their structured academic program is enriched with visual and performing arts, athletics, an outdoor education program, community service, and extra-curricular activities.

Seattle Japanese Cultural Festival Seattle WA April26-28 The festival features Japanese exhibits, performances, and demonstrations. Held at the Seattle Center in the Fisher Pavilion. The annual festival began in 1976 with a gift of 1,000 cherry trees to the city of Seattle from the Japanese government to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial.
