The Coast Mountains of British Columbia, punctuated by deep fiords, divide the coast from the interior. Spectacularly beautiful, they are nevertheless a formidable barrier to transportation. Communities dot the
Sunshine Coast but farther north, only
Prince Rupert,
Kitimat and
Bella Coola.
