The Columbia River has its headwaters near
Canal Flats in the Rocky Mountain Trench. It flows north through
Golden, turning south and passing through
Revelstoke. From there, flows on through the
Arrow Lakes, joining the
Kootenay River near
Castlegar. It continues onward through Washington and then between Washington and Oregon to the Pacific Ocean.
