Search Cowichan Bay British Columbia

To the east of Highway 19 lies Cowichan Bay, home of the Cowichan band of the Coast Salish Indians, famous for their sweaters hand-knit from local raw fleece. The sweaters' Scottish family crest designs are a result of the Indians having been taught to knit by Scottish settlers who arrived here in 1862. The community provides complete facilities, and is also a center of sport-fishing.
