Grand Forks

Grand Forks is close to the U.S. border in Kootenay Rockies. It is served by Crowsnest Highway 3. Many of its residents descend from members of the Doukhobor religious sect which emigrated from Russia at the end of the 19th century seeking religious and social freedom in Canada. Local restaurants often dish up tasty, vegetarian Russian specialties.
