Grand Trunk Pacific Railway

The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway was built from Winnipeg west to the Pacific in the early part of the 20th century. It went through the Yellowhead Pass, westward through the Robson Valley, across the province and eventually followed the Skeena River to the Pacific, where Prince Rupert was founded as the railroad's western terminus. The path of the railroad is closely followed by Yellowhead Highway 16.
