Osoyoos British Columbia"Canada's Desert Oasis" |
With a population of around 5,500, Osoyoos is located in the Okanagan Valley on the Canada/U.S. border, at the junction of highways 3 and 97. In recognition of its high quality green spaces, diverse and original landscaping, tidiness, environmental awareness, and citizen involvement, Osoyoos was awarded the 1995 Canadian Communities in Bloom Award.
Originating as a lonely customs house in 1861, the town now boasts an excellent complement of facilities, services, recreational and cultural opportunities and business activities. It boasts the country's warmest year-round temperatures, the warmest freshwater lake, Osoyoos Lake, and a unique spotted lake.
