Muse de la Brasserie - Maison des Brasseurs

Search Brussels

The Brewery Museum is located in Golden Tree Hall, one of many guild halls surrounding the Brussels Grand Place. The Brewer's Guild maintains a museum in the basement with exhibits on antique and modern brewing technology and equipment. Decorative tankards and similar drinking paraphenalia are displayed. Surveys of Belgium's diverse brewing output are tabulated on computer, with the various regional brews, the abbey beers, the geuzes, the lambics, all mapped out. A glass of beer is served to each visitor at the end of the tour.

The current building dates from the early 17th century, having been reconstructed after a 1695 bombardment by the French destroyed most of the Grand Place.
