Laarne Castle

The stunning Water Castle of Laarne, built in the 13th century to defend Gent, is one of the most accurately preserved medieval castles in Belgium. The walls and turrets were added in the 14th century and it was massively renovated in the 1950s. Parts of it are still occupied. It houses the D'Allemange Silver Collection and an array of antique furniture.
